Materials like diamond or polycrystalline diamonds (PCD) are very attractive as the cutting tools for manufacturing industry.
Compared to conventional grinding, a machining with femtosecond lasers offers many advantages like geometric flexibility, shorter processing time and possibility to create a microstructures with clean surface quality.
The removal rate of femtosecond laser technique may be of orders of magnitude higher when compared to conventional grinding or electrodischarge methods. Also the surface quality, especially roughness, is significantly improved.
Our JASPER laser family, with high pulse energy, high average power and high repetition rates are a perfect tools for a variety of micromachining applications. A user-configurable burst mode increases ablation efficiency and quality for certain materials.
